Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) generally refers to the implementation of one unified system to replace individual disparate systems within an enterprise that will allow consistency in the look, feel, and transfer of data from one functional area to another. In lieu of integrating existing enterprise applications, the organization would purchase a license for ERP software from a vendor and migrate existing data into the software, or only purchase licenses for individual modules of an ERP tool, and integrate their existing applications.
