I. Client Phase
At Future Technologies, our methodology begins
by cultivating an initial relationship with the
client and participating in the Request For Information
(RFI) process. Based on the information provided
by the client through their Request For Proposal
(RFP) and the results of the RFI, we then generate
a custom proposal.
The deposit and signed client acceptance of that
proposal completes this phase (See Chart 1.0).
Primary Deliverables:
- Custom Proposal
- Signed Contract
- Deposit

II. Information Gathering and Requirements
Phase
We analyze your current online business or your
proposed online business model carefully. We assemble
our project leader and the team members who will
devise and implement the development of your online
needs. We learn and scrutinize your current business
processes, target markets, competition, efficiencies,
and inefficiencies. We review your products, services,
channels, strategic partners, alliances, and marketing
strategies. We thoroughly discuss, understand
and devise your short and long term business goals
and objectives. We identify specific needs, discuss
budgets, and project timelines. We meet your needs.
We have the expertise to advise you further on
web-based technologies (See Chart 2.0).
Our meetings are concise and highly informative,
empowering you with solutions, while we learn
more about your business needs. We introduce the
variety of applicable web-based technologies and
solutions that may be integrated into a comprehensive,
fully functional, interactive and dynamic website.
Major Milestones:
- Define project objectives and the functional
purpose of the site to be developed.
- Assess the overall structure and content of
the proposed site.
- Perform any necessary competitive analysis
and industry research.
- Define budgets and costs.
- Perform business analysis to current business
model for potential web-based solutions.
- Make technical and design recommendations.
- Appoint a best-situated projects manager from
our team to be your key contact.
|
|
Primary
Deliverables:
- Definition of the entire spectrum of functionality
- Website release strategy
|
|
III. Analysis Phase
During the analysis phase, content is analyzed
and organized so that clear navigation can be
designed into the site and transaction needs are
analyzed so that our programmers and systems analyst
may find the best solutions (See Chart 3.0). Our
vast experience allows us to anticipate and outline
solutions in advance. Our team of analyst selects
the technologies required to assemble a site that
will effectively meet the defined objectives.
We scrutinize the proposal with you thoroughly
to ensure that it meets your defined objectives
and falls within your budget. Upon acceptance
of the proposal, the same shall serve as a blueprint
for website development.
Primary Deliverables:
- Detailed Written Proposal
|
|
|
IV. Detail Design
The Project Manager will schedule client meetings
to review the proposal, which was submitted in
Phase 3. During this phase it is once again imperative
that the client be intimately involved to avoid
the later need of a change of scope proposal amendment.
Change of scope proposals will be written if the
portfolio created is inconsistent with this proposal.
The client will review and approve these materials,
which will include revised costs and date specific
timelines, before proceeding to the next phase.
All information details relevant to the phase
of development of the site are collected and clarified.
The collected information is used to establish
the Detailed Design Specifications, which consist
of a portfolio of technical documents such as
the Functional Specification, flowchart of the
proposed site, graphic mockups and template specific
layouts. During this phase each page will be laid
out as flat work and functionality written out.
This will be used as the architectural blueprint
for developing the project.
Primary Deliverables:
- Functional Specification
- Site flowcharts
- Graphic Mockups
|
|
|
V. Web Site Development and Programming
In this Phase the actual construction of the
web site takes place. Using the Detailed Design
Specifications, the developers will transform
these designs from a hard copy form into an electronic
one. The graphic mockups chosen by the client
will be re-developed as web specific graphics.
All the programming and coding will be implemented
to achieve what has been approved in the Detail
Design Specifications.
As the website is developed, a password protected
test area is set up for your feedback and to keep
your companys vision inline with our vision.
Meetings are scheduled during this time to discuss
the development of the website. Your site is thoroughly
tested by our technical experts before final deployment.
Major Milestones:
- Build prototypes to test our concepts
- Develop architecture and navigation
- Develop look and feel and finalize graphic
design
- Develop technical, transactional, design and
infrastructure
- Test prototype usability and functionality
- Complete design based on client and team based
advice
- Develop main sections and subsections from
collateral materials provided by client
|
|
|
The client reviews and approves the site at this
point before proceeding to the next stage.
Primary Deliverables:
- Prototype of the website for review and testing
- Polished Graphics
|
|
VI. Quality Assurance Testing
We will prepare a detailed QA Testing plan for
the project. This is a cyclical process performed
accordingly, where bugs are identified, tracked,
and fixed, and then the test is executed again.
Our QA procedures involve tool-based analysis
of the site implementation, access to the site
by browsers resident on various platforms, checkout
of all navigational and functional features, as
well as an aesthetic and appearance review. Only
after all of the planned QA testing work is completed
will the release site be delivered.
Primary Deliverables:
|
|
|
VII. Deployment, Promotion, and Market Penetration
Once production and QA is complete and our client's
expectations have been fully satisfied, we take
your website live and begin promotion and marketing
campaigns. Prior to website installation, if needed,
we prepare our clients thorough training, written
documentation, and test simulation. We transfer
any relevant knowledge from the production phase
to our clients for future use. After installation,
we will use a combination of marketing strategies
to encourage your audiences to visit the site.
Search engine indexing, selected Internet advertising,
conventional print media, and press releases can
be used to generate interest and quality traffic
to your Web site.
Major Milestones:
- Coordinate with your marketing department
for advertising and marketing
- Deploy statistical tracking software
- Develop Meta tag code and keyword doorway
pages
- Launch site live online
- Hand-submit to search engines
|
|
|
Primary Deliverables:
- Launched Website
- User Documentation
|
VIII. Maintenance and Support
We will work with you to draw up an affordable maintenance
and hosting contract. If your web site will require
a large amount of upkeep on a weekly basis, or whether
it will just needs minor monthly changes, we will work
up a contract maintenance plan which fits your needs
and takes into consideration whatever budget you may
be working with. Often a maintenance contract will handle
all web site support questions your visitors may have,
provide hosting, domain name registration and maintenance,
the addition, removal, and editing of products, and
a custom upkeep plan. Technical support will be provided
by us 24x7.
IX. Training
Two specified individuals from the client company will
be instructed and trained either at client location
or at our location in all aspects of the website including
any administrative tools, data input, queries, access
and editing if determined necessary. At this time any
required documentation will be provided and reviewed.
